Sceab Edutainment is an education company / preproduction house. On the education side, it offers more immersive history and language learning through embedding its teaching points in stories that “grab” your imagination.

On the entertainment side, it asks – with the appetite for subtitled drama never higher since the mainstream success of shows like The Killing and Narcos − why shouldn’t Irish-language animations seek to capture an international audience?

Jules agus Máire ag féachaint suas sa spéir

Sciob Sceab Edutainment is founded by writer and producer Dr. Pat O’Brien. He has two screenwriting credits to date, earning the first one in 2012 when Gobstar Film his Dáithí agus Goliath script. It went on to show at the likes of the Galway Film Fleadh and the Chicago Irish Film Festival.

It’s Pat’s experience as scriptwriter combined with the niche appeal of his PhD. subject – medieval English literature – that gives him an edge when it comes to creating education products that sell. Because Pat had to be innovative in his approach when teaching medieval literature in university classrooms.
